An inquiry has been initiated following an incident where a young female student was approached by an individual who allegedly urged her to enter his van. The teenager, who had recently departed Bartley Green school, encountered the man near The Cock pub in Bartley Green, Birmingham. The schoolgirl was reportedly distressed by the encounter, and authorities are currently providing her with support. The school has informed parents about the situation.

In a communication from Adams Hill school, circulated online and reported by BirminghamLive, it was stated that a student was accosted by a driver of a white van outside The Cock pub. The student, although shaken, is safe. The incident has been reported to the police, and the school plans to educate students on personal safety in the community.

The Mirror has sought comments from the school, and West Midlands Police is being consulted to determine any connections to a recent similar incident in the vicinity. Additionally, a nine-year-old boy managed to escape an abduction attempt by a van driver on Church View. The police have confirmed that the Church View incident is unrelated to a previous attempt on a schoolgirl near Faulkners Farm Drive in Erdington.

Regarding the incident involving the teenage girl on Jiggins Lane, Bartley Green, a police spokesperson mentioned that investigations are ongoing after the girl reported being approached by a man in a van. Support is being provided to the girl, and local law enforcement officers will be conducting extra patrols for reassurance. Surveillance footage is being collected and analyzed.
