Taylor Swift Songs Removed from Trump Campaign Videos

-

Several Taylor Swift songs have been taken down from social media videos shared by the campaign of U.S. President Donald Trump and the White House. These entities had utilized two of the renowned American singer’s tracks in the past week.

Both the White House and a representative for Taylor Swift did not provide immediate responses to requests for comments.

Swift has not recently addressed Trump, but she did endorse his Democratic opponent, former Vice President Kamala Harris, in 2024. During the 2020 election campaign, Swift expressed on social media her disapproval of Trump as president.

Trump has frequently criticized Swift. After she endorsed Harris, the Republican leader declared on social media, “I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT!” Last year, he remarked, “Has anyone noticed that, since I said ‘I HATE TAYLOR SWIFT,’ she’s no longer ‘HOT?'”

Several artists, such as Sabrina Carpenter and Ariana Grande, have urged the Trump administration not to feature their music.

The Trump campaign showcased two Taylor Swift songs on its TikTok page within the last week. One video, incorporating her lyrics, had a caption alluding to well-known songs by the pop star, including “Red (Donald Trump’s Version).”

In June, Trump’s campaign uploaded a video on the short-video platform with Swift’s new track from “Toy Story 5” titled “I Knew It, I Knew You.” The video was captioned, “Nobody loves our country & the American People more than @President Donald J Trump,” featuring him engaging with children at the White House, dancing at a UFC match, and appearing at a rally.

This incident marked the third occasion where the Trump administration or his campaign utilized one of the Grammy-winning artist’s songs in recent times.
