“Apex Legends Winter Wipeout Event Unleashed!”

-

The Apex Legends Winter Wipeout event is gearing up to start later today, marking a strong beginning for the battle royale in 2026. This mid-season update will introduce significant changes to some of the game’s popular Legends and offer a variety of winter-themed limited-time items for players to enjoy during the dark winter days.

Let’s delve into the key updates of this event. While a brief summary is provided, detailed patch notes are included below for those interested in a deeper dive.

One of the major highlights of the Winter Wipeout update is the introduction of the Hoverboard, a new item that occupies the Survival Item slot and is replenished each time a player respawns in the Wildcard mode.

Equipping the Hoverboard provides a speed boost and introduces new movement capabilities such as double jumping, wall riding, and zip-line surfing. Players can also perform aerial tricks to earn EVO, which is crucial for upcoming battles.

Apart from Hoverboards, three other new Wildcards are making their debut in this event. Additionally, Octane, Crypto, and Newcastle have undergone significant overhauls to their abilities.

Octane now boasts an enhanced passive healing ability that scales based on his health level. Using his Stim ability consecutively triggers ‘Stim Surge’, reducing incoming damage and healing him through damage.

Newcastle has received two new abilities that replace his previous ones, focusing on automatic weapon reload upon reviving teammates and providing knockback effects with his Tactical and Revive shields.

Crypto has been upgraded to enhance his stealth capabilities on the battlefield. He can now Trailblaze to allies using Ally.MoveTo(), and he gains Ultimate charge by interacting with scan beacons and tagging enemies with his drone.

In addition to these gameplay changes, the Winter Wipeout event offers a range of new cosmetic items that can be unlocked or purchased through in-game Packs or the shop.

For a comprehensive overview of all the changes in Apex Legends, refer to the detailed patch notes below, covering various aspects such as Active Gold Weapon Rotation, Respawn Beacons, Extended Supply Bins, and specific Legend adjustments like Octane, Newcastle, Crypto, and Revenant.

The update also addresses weapon balance adjustments, including enhancements to popular weapons like the R-301, Rampage, L-STAR, and more. Players can expect improvements to map performance, bug fixes, and quality-of-life enhancements on Olympus, among other updates.

Stay tuned for the Winter Wipeout event from January 27th to February 9th, 2026, and keep an eye out for bug fixes and further enhancements following the release of version 27.1.
