A close associate of Meghan Markle’s former spouse has shared his interesting reaction upon learning about her relationship with Prince Harry. Before Meghan’s involvement with the Duke of Sussex, she was previously wed to film producer Trevor Engelson for nearly three years, starting in 2011.
Their divorce was finalized in 2014, a couple of years before Meghan’s first meeting with Harry in 2016 through mutual acquaintances. Bethenny Frankel, an original cast member of the Real Housewives of New York, disclosed that as soon as Trevor learned about his ex-wife’s new romance, he was convinced they would eventually wed.
Indeed, this prediction came true, as Harry and Meghan tied the knot in a spectacular wedding ceremony at St George’s Chapel in Windsor, attended by the entire Royal Family and various celebrities.
During an episode of The Toast podcast, Bethenny recounted meeting Trevor at a bar years ago, where they occasionally exchanged texts, including one about Meghan. She mentioned that Trevor confirmed Meghan as his ex upon seeing pictures of her dating Harry, and he indicated that she would indeed marry him.
Bethenny further revealed that Trevor has since married nutritionist and heiress Tracey Kurland, with whom he has welcomed three children. In a biography titled Meghan, A Hollywood Princess, it was noted that Meghan and Trevor initially met at a bar while she was beginning her acting career.
Issues arose in their marriage shortly after their wedding, with their separation catching Trevor off guard. A friend described Trevor’s change in feelings towards Meghan as drastic, from adoration to feeling insignificant in her life.
At the time of their separation, Meghan and Trevor were maintaining a long-distance relationship, as Meghan had commitments in Toronto for her role in Suits, while Trevor resided in LA.
