While not offering premium sports and movie packages like Sky Q, Freesat stands out for its free-to-watch model. The Manhattan S4-R 500GB model is currently available at £219.99, with larger 1TB and 2TB versions set to launch soon. The device is in high demand, as indicated by its status on Argos as “in demand” and “selling fast.”
According to Manhattan COO Alex Arbab-Zadeh, the S4-R enhances recording capabilities by allowing up to four simultaneous recordings, making it an attractive option for households seeking an affordable and flexible TV service. Another disruptive device in the market is the Pleio puck, offering over 50 live channels over the internet without requiring an aerial.
The Pleio puck, priced at £99.99 and including a gaming controller and access to 200 online games, is back in stock on platforms like Amazon and eBay after initial shortages. Sky has also announced a 20 percent price reduction on the Sky Glass Air TV in anticipation of the upcoming World Cup, with prices starting from £4.50 per month. Customers interested in the enhanced Sky Glass Gen 2 model can expect to pay from £11 per month for features like a 4K Quantum Dot display and built-in Dolby Atmos soundbar.
