Nintendo’s Animal Crossing: New Horizons has introduced a new feature called Slumber Islands in its latest 3.0 update, allowing players to unleash their creativity without any resource limitations. Comparable to Minecraft’s creative mode, players can now terraform, construct, and adorn up to three distinct Slumber Islands simultaneously.
This feature was launched on January 15 with the update, making it available for immediate use. To access Slumber Islands, players must first ensure they have an active Nintendo Switch Online account, as the feature is primarily designed for multiplayer interaction.
Once the online account is set, players need to have interacted with Luna in the dream world at least once. By simply resting on their in-game bed, Luna will subsequently send a letter inviting players to explore Slumber Islands.
To embark on the dreamy adventure, players must return to their bed and select the “It’s slumber time” option from the menu. Luna offers players the choice to create an island of varying sizes – small, medium, or large, each featuring different river network layouts.
Upon island creation, players have the liberty to manipulate it as desired. Items discovered in the real world can be duplicated on Slumber Island, and terraforming options enable players to customize paths, ramps, rivers, and cliffs.
Players can also adjust the weather and time of day according to their preferences by using the D-Pad. However, it’s important to note that any items collected on Slumber Island cannot be transferred back to the main game.
Despite these limitations, the addition of Slumber Islands provides a vast playground for players to unleash their imaginations within the charming world of Animal Crossing: New Horizons.
