Nicola Golen’s goal in the second minute of extra time secured a 2-2 draw for Ottawa Rapid against AFC Toronto at TD Place on Sunday. The league-leading Rapid earned a valuable point with Golen’s equalizer in the 92nd minute. Melanie Forbes also found the net for Ottawa (10-2-3) in the 13th minute.
Sarah Stratigakis and Shelina Zadorsky scored for third-place Toronto (7-4-4) in response. The match saw both teams reduced to 10 players in the 63rd minute following red cards shown to Choo Hyojoo of Rapid and Cloey Uddenberg of AFC Toronto.
Earlier in the day, it was announced that Ottawa’s TD Place would host the Northern Super League final on Nov. 14.
