Manny Pacquiao has verified ongoing discussions about a potential rematch with the renowned boxer Floyd Mayweather. Reports suggest that negotiations are being spearheaded by Netflix, aiming to bring together two of the most prominent figures in modern boxing.
The duo previously clashed more than ten years ago, generating over £500 million from pay-per-view sales in the US. Despite high expectations, Mayweather secured a clear victory, although the fight failed to live up to the hype, with Pacquiao attributing his performance to a shoulder injury.
Having surprised the boxing world by announcing intentions for a rematch with Mayweather over a year ago, Pacquiao remains keen on the idea. Mayweather demanded a hefty $4 million from Pacquiao for prematurely revealing the talks at that time.
Undeterred, the Filipino senator is enthusiastic about the prospect of a rematch, emphasizing Mayweather’s role in making it happen. Pacquiao expressed readiness to engage in discussions, highlighting the possibility of a rematch given his continued activity in the sport.

Despite not listing Mayweather among his top opponents, Pacquiao recognized Marco Antonio Barrera, Erik Morales, Juan Manuel Marquez, Oscar De La Hoya, Miguel Cotto, and Antonio Margarito as significant rivals. He attributed Mayweather’s absence from the list to a perceived lack of excitement in their previous encounter, stating that fans deserve more engaging and competitive fights.
