“UFC Star Paddy Pimblett Champions Mental Health in MMA”

-

UFC sensation Paddy Pimblett is leading a new initiative to enhance mental well-being through the sport of mixed martial arts.

Pimblett, a contender for a lightweight championship next year, has been a vocal advocate for mental health awareness. His dedication stems from a personal loss to suicide, inspiring him to establish The Baddy Foundation. This foundation aims to address food insecurity issues and combat the stigma surrounding men’s mental health.

In addition to his foundation work, Pimblett has taken on a role as an ambassador for the UFC’s collaboration with OnSide. This partnership involves organizing weekly discussions for young individuals, providing expert-led sessions to foster self-discipline, self-defense skills, confidence, coordination, and mental strength within a nurturing environment.

Reflecting on his roots in Liverpool, Pimblett expressed pride in representing his city at the highest level in the UFC. He emphasized the transformative power of martial arts in his own life and highlighted the importance of the program in offering young people in Wirral opportunities to discover their passions, boost confidence, and realize attainable goals.

CEO of OnSide, Jamie Masraff, emphasized the positive impact of the partnership with UFC on youth engagement. Through martial arts sessions at Youth Zones and the new focus on well-being support groups at The Hive, young individuals can openly discuss their thoughts, build resilience, and feel a sense of belonging.

Sharing his personal struggles, Pimblett encouraged men to break the silence around mental health issues. He emphasized the importance of seeking help and speaking out rather than suffering in silence, emphasizing the need for open conversations and support.
