Julia’s House, a children’s hospice in Dorset and Wiltshire, stated that it was no longer appropriate for the duchess to continue in her role due to her correspondence with Epstein. The charity thanked her for her past support but made the decision based on the recent revelations.
Similarly, a food charity, The Natasha Allergy Research Foundation, also dropped Sarah Ferguson as its patron. The founders, Nadim and Tanya Ednan-Laperouse OBEs, mentioned being disturbed by the duchess’s communication with Epstein and deemed it inappropriate for her to remain associated with the charity.
The email sent to Epstein in 2011 contradicted Ferguson’s previous statements distancing herself from the sex offender. The message, reported by The Sun newspaper, showed her apologizing to Epstein for linking him to paedophilia in the media, describing him as “steadfast” and “generous.” Her spokesperson explained that the email was an attempt to appease Epstein and his threats.
In another instance, Ferguson expressed regret in an interview for accepting money from Epstein and vowed to stay away from him in the future. Despite her past involvement with the charities, recent events led to her removal as a patron. Reports suggest that she later sent another apologetic email to Epstein, expressing fear and regret for not replying to him earlier.
Given these developments, the question arises whether Sarah Ferguson should lose her royal title. The situation has raised concerns about her associations and decisions regarding Epstein, leading to repercussions from the organizations she was previously affiliated with.
