“Dyson Unveils Versatile Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 Fan Heater”

As the temperature drops, many are considering turning on their heating systems. Despite residing in a drafty home in northern England, I am determined to wait until at least October before doing so. Fortunately, Dyson’s innovative new device has been keeping me warm during this time.

Dyson recently unveiled the Purifier Hot+Cool HP1 Purifying fan heater, a versatile machine priced at £549.99. This three-in-one device not only purifies the air in your home by removing pollutants and allergens but also functions as a heater or cooler for your space.

Having owned and enjoyed the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Link, which is now less common and about eight years old, I was eager to test out the new version. The older model, still in good working condition without the need for a filter replacement, was showing signs of wear and tear, prompting my interest in comparing it to the latest release.

Familiar with Dyson’s reputation for sleek and user-friendly products, I found the new Hot+Cool to be no exception. Quick and easy to set up, with its distinctive design enhancing the room’s aesthetics, the device was a welcome addition to my home office. Connecting it to the Dyson app via WiFi, I promptly enjoyed the warmth it provided.

Efficient in heating, the Dyson fan rapidly raised the room temperature from 17°C to my desired 21°C, automatically switching to standby mode once reached. The device offers convenient control options through the app or remote, allowing adjustments to temperature, fan speed, oscillation, and a quiet ‘sleep’ mode. Furthermore, its cooling capabilities proved to be equally effective in my testing.

Beyond its heating and cooling functions, Dyson’s latest smart fan excels in air purification as well. While I didn’t notice a significant improvement in air quality, the purifying feature is reassuring, particularly with pets at home. In comparison, the Dyson Purifier Cool PC1 in my kitchen effectively detects and eliminates odors and steam.

Despite occasional connection issues due to WiFi connectivity and the device’s automatic shutdown upon reaching the set temperature, the Hot+Cool remains a valuable asset for working from home on colder days. While not inexpensive, the long-lasting performance and potential savings on heating costs make it a worthwhile investment for any household.

For those seeking a more budget-friendly portable heating option, a classic design available at Tesco for £59.99 or a compact plug-in heater for £19 on sale may be suitable alternatives.
