Co-op is gearing up to unveil 11 fresh outlets this week, with a detailed roster of locations already confirmed. The newly launched stores span from Bristol to the Scottish Highlands, with the Co-op marking a significant milestone as the inaugural permanent retail presence at the fresh Brent Cross Town development in London.
This expansion initiative comprises a blend of brand-new stores, franchise-operated outlets, and revamped locations reopening their doors. It forms a crucial part of the retailer’s commitment to revamp over 200 stores by 2024/25.
This recent batch of openings adds to the 50 stores previously announced by Co-op, scheduled for launch in November and December, just in time for the festive season. The Co-op is advocating for business-rates reform in the upcoming Budget.
Kate McCrae, Co-op’s Operations Director, emphasized the organization’s focus on establishing more than mere retail spaces but rather community hubs that cater to the local populace conveniently. She highlighted the Co-op’s dedication to enhancing local communities, supporting British suppliers, and creating job opportunities across the UK.
In a bid to enhance member benefits, Co-op has introduced 200 new personalized offers, increased discounts, member-exclusive games, reward mechanisms, and special deals under its membership scheme. Shoppers stand to save upwards of £90 during October, November, and December, with prizes changing monthly and members earning entries to prize draws for every £5 spent both in-store and online.
Rachel Halter, Co-op’s Director of Membership, reaffirmed the company’s commitment to delivering added value to its members regularly. By enriching personalized offers, expanding access to popular features, and enhancing discount values, Co-op aims to ensure its members enjoy substantial savings on their preferred products. This move aligns with Co-op’s promise to provide exceptional value and reward its members with every purchase.
