A father tragically passed away on a pirate ship during a vacation in Turkey with his family, where witnesses claimed staff continued with a foam party after covering the deceased with a towel. British national Peter Colville was part of a group of 10 family members, including his children and grandchildren, enjoying a cruise on the ‘Legend Big Kral’ boat in Alanya. The trip, costing £200 per person, featured entertainment, DJs, snorkeling, and a foam party, with around 600 other guests onboard.
During a stop at Cleopatra Beach, Peter went missing, only to be discovered unconscious in the water shortly after. Fellow swimmers pulled him onto the deck and began CPR attempts. His daughter, Nakita Colville, who was present during the incident, criticized the staff’s lack of urgency and empathy, stating they appeared indifferent to the situation. Despite efforts to revive Peter, he was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital.
Nakita recounted the distressing scene where her family members were in shock, and the crew allegedly prioritized the continuation of the party over showing respect for her father. The coastguard intervened, and the family was taken off the boat, while the festivities reportedly carried on for the remaining passengers.
Nakita emphasized her father’s good character and expressed disappointment in how the situation was handled onboard. Following the incident, postmortems conducted in both Turkey and the UK failed to determine the cause of death, leaving the family seeking answers. Despite the traumatic experience, Nakita reflected on her father’s memory and the need for better treatment during such emergencies. The boat operator, Big Kral Pirate Boats, did not provide a comment regarding the incident.
