Fears have been growing around Britney Spears lately, especially after her former spouse Kevin Federline made startling revelations in his latest book. Kevin, aged 47, tied the knot with the pop icon in 2004 after a quick courtship, resulting in two sons, Sean Preston, 19, and Jayden, 18. Following their split, Kevin was awarded full custody of the children due to Britney’s mental health struggles.
In an excerpt from his upcoming book “You Thought You Knew,” Federline alleges that the kids would occasionally find their mother holding a knife at their bedroom entrance as they woke up. He described instances where Britney stood silently, knife in hand, before walking away without a word.
This claim echoes earlier statements made by Britney’s sister, Jamie Lynn Spears, in her 2022 memoir. Jamie alleged that Britney had once locked them in a room while brandishing a knife, a claim Britney denied. Federline further disclosed that the boys expressed fear about visiting their mother during their teenage years.
Reflecting on the challenging night in 2008 when Britney was involuntarily hospitalized at Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center, Federline emphasized the emotional toll it took on him. Britney was placed under a psychiatric hold, leading to Kevin gaining full custody of the children with Britney required to provide significant child support monthly.
Reports suggest that Britney’s relationship with her sons has remained strained, with the boys relocating to Hawaii with their father in 2023. In Britney’s own memoir released the same year, she refuted Kevin’s accusations of her being out of control and his push to limit her time with their children.
Kevin expressed concerns about Britney’s well-being, stating that he believes a critical moment is approaching. He fears that if circumstances do not change, their sons could face dire consequences.
In response to Federline’s claims, Britney’s representative criticized the exploitation of her situation for profit, emphasizing her dedication to her children’s welfare above all else. Kevin also revealed an incident where he found Britney talking to her ex-boyfriend, Justin Timberlake, on the eve of their wedding, raising doubts about their relationship stability.
Despite Britney’s admission of postpartum depression and use of Adderall, she denied allegations of substance abuse. Federline admitted to the complexities of their past but chose to move forward with understanding and compassion.
