There are strong indications that King Charles and Prince Harry are likely to make their first public appearance together in six years. The Duke of Sussex has been making significant strides in reconciling with senior royals. In a recent BBC interview, Harry expressed his desire for a family reconciliation, which seems to be materializing after his recent private visit to his father during a UK trip.
The Duke met with King Charles at Clarence House last week, marking their first in-person meeting since February 2024. Buckingham Palace confirmed that they had a private tea that lasted approximately 50 minutes, seen as a crucial step in repairing their strained relationship.
Their last joint appearance was in April 2019 at the Our Planet global premiere in London. Since then, Harry withdrew from royal duties in January 2020. A potential public appearance together could signify a significant shift, hinting at the possibility of Harry, Meghan Markle, and their children being welcomed back into the royal circle.
While Harry isn’t expected to resume official royal duties, he may participate in more public events in the UK. During his recent brief visit for the annual WellChild Awards, he engaged in various charity activities across the country.
In a subsequent trip to Kyiv with his Invictus Foundation, Harry discussed his recent meeting and strained ties with the Royal Family in an interview with The Guardian. He addressed the challenges he faced in the past years and emphasized his contentment with his current life.
Looking ahead, Harry plans to spend more time with his father, who is undergoing cancer treatment. He also affirmed his decision to publish his memoir, Spare, without regrets. As a gesture of goodwill, Harry reportedly agreed, at the King’s request, to refrain from any public actions that could overshadow President Trump’s UK visit.
Recently, Harry and Meghan were photographed happily attending Kevin Costner’s charity event in Santa Barbara, reflecting a positive public appearance.
