“Netflix Announces Assassin’s Creed TV Series with Chernobyl Director”

-

Netflix has revealed plans for a new Assassin’s Creed TV series, with acclaimed director Johan Renck on board to lead the project. Renck, known for his Emmy-winning work on HBO’s Chernobyl, is set to direct the show.

Joining the production is actor Toby Wallace, who has previously appeared in HBO’s Euphoria. The series is also assembling a cast that includes Wallace, Pettricrew, Hart, and Marcus in various roles.

While specific plot details remain confidential at this early stage, Netflix has not confirmed whether the show will follow existing game storylines or introduce a fresh narrative. This marks Netflix’s latest venture into video game adaptations following successful projects like Fallout, Arcane, and The Last of Us.

The Assassin’s Creed franchise previously made a foray into cinema with a 2016 film starring Michael Fassbender, which received mixed reviews for its focus on the present-day storyline rather than the historical elements fans love.

As production gears up, the Netflix series is expected to premiere sometime in late 2026 or early 2027. Fans can anticipate more updates as development progresses, potentially coinciding with the release of other anticipated video game adaptations in the same year.
