“Raducanu & Draper to Team Up for United Cup Debut”

-

Emma Raducanu has made her first comments since being selected to represent Great Britain at the upcoming United Cup in January. The former US Open champion will partner with Jack Draper for the mixed-gender tournament.

Both players had to end their seasons prematurely, with Raducanu citing health reasons and Draper dealing with an arm injury. This will mark their debut at the United Cup, as Raducanu opted out of the Billie Jean King Cup to focus on individual competitions in Asia.

Raducanu expressed her excitement about playing for Team GB alongside Draper, stating, “I’m thrilled to be part of the United Cup in January. Representing my country with my teammates is a special opportunity and a week to cherish.” Draper also shared his anticipation, looking forward to competing in a new city in Australia.

Raducanu faced challenges during the Asian swing post-US Open, including health issues and early exits from tournaments. She withdrew from her last two events in 2025 for medical reasons but will have time to recover before the United Cup kicks off on January 2.

On the other hand, Draper was sidelined due to an arm injury after Wimbledon, returning at the US Open but exiting early due to another arm issue. He is set to make a comeback at the UTS London event, while Raducanu will participate in an exhibition match against Amanda Anisimova in Miami before gearing up for the United Cup and Australian Open.

As they prepare for the upcoming season, Raducanu and Draper are eager to showcase their talents at the United Cup before shifting their focus to the Australian Open.
