Sony has unveiled three new vibrant color options for the DualSense controller and customizable console covers for the PlayStation 5. These colors, named ‘Techno Red’, ‘Remix Green’, and ‘Rhythm Blue’, represent the RGB spectrum and are designed to make a bold statement rather than blend in discreetly.
Sae Konayashi from Sony’s design team described the new designs as featuring a seamless gradient with a high-gloss finish that enhances the colors. The console covers also receive an upgrade with a touch of transparency.
These new designs will be released in limited quantities starting from March 12, 2026, and can be purchased directly from the PlayStation Direct store. The DualSense controllers will be priced at £74.99, while the PS5 console covers will cost £64.99, with pre-orders starting on January 16.
It is important to note that the console covers are only compatible with the slim version of the PlayStation 5, excluding the launch model and PS5 Pro users. However, the DualSense controllers will work seamlessly with all versions. Additionally, the God of War 20th Anniversary and Ghost of Yotei controllers are also priced at £74.99.
These accessories are part of Sony’s efforts to offer personalization options for the PlayStation 5, catering to users’ desire for customization. Fans on Reddit have already shown enthusiasm for the new designs, particularly praising the green color option for its resemblance to Charlie XCX’s ‘Brat’ album cover, dubbing it the ‘PS5 partygirl’.
