“Giga Poll Debunks Far-Right Narrative in Britain”

-

A recent extensive poll has debunked the far-right’s narrative of a divided and troubled Britain. The “Giga Poll,” involving over 45,300 participants and covering 80 different topics, reveals that core British values of tolerance and open-mindedness prevail.

Commissioned by green entrepreneur Dale Vince, the poll aimed to gauge the true sentiments of the nation amidst prevalent far-right rhetoric. Results indicate that despite concerns about immigration levels and other issues, the British populace exhibits qualities of compassion, decency, and tolerance.

Conducted by anti-fascist group HOPE not hate in collaboration with the TUC, the survey sheds light on public opinion, presenting a challenge for political figures like Keir Starmer. Labour lags behind Nigel Farage’s Reform by six points, reflecting widespread dissatisfaction with the government’s performance and a feeling of being unheard by those in power.

While right-wing politicians attempt to push a narrative of a lawless and racially tense society, the poll underscores that Britons perceive their communities as peaceful and harmonious. The predominant concerns highlighted by respondents include the cost of living crisis, with immigration and asylum ranking lower on the list.

The findings emphasize a desire for greater public involvement in decision-making processes and a call for impactful actions to address pressing issues. The majority supports initiatives such as a wealth tax on the affluent, environmental conservation efforts, and measures to combat climate change.

Overall, the poll signals a public yearning for effective leadership, community well-being, and solutions to socio-economic challenges. It offers valuable insights for policymakers and underscores the need for responsive governance to address the concerns of the silent majority.
