Sky has revealed changes in its TV channel lineup, set to take effect soon. Sky Showcase and Sky Max will stop airing content starting February 24. However, a beloved channel is making a comeback to replace them – Sky One. This channel, launching tomorrow, will feature a variety of comedy and entertainment programs, including new shows like The Dyers’ Caravan Park and Gemma Collins: Four Weddings and a Baby, along with returning favorites like Rob & Romesh Vs.., The Paper, and Ted. Furthermore, Sky One will be the home of Saturday Night Live UK later this year.
According to Carli Kerr, MD of Sky TV & NOW, the goal is to enhance the viewing experience for customers by offering a unique channel packed with energy and a mix of new and returning content. Sky One will be available on channel 106 starting on February 24.
In addition to the channel launch, Sky is introducing a new plan called Ultimate TV. For £24 per month, customers will gain access to Disney+, Netflix, Hayu, and the upcoming HBO Max app, along with over 130 premium channels like Sky Comedy, Sky Documentaries, and Sky Crime. Subscribers will also benefit from a dedicated Disney movie channel within the TV guide, allowing them to watch popular films seamlessly. The plan includes services like Netflix Standard with Ads, Disney+ Standard with Ads starting in March, HBO Max Basic with Ads from March 26th, Hayu from July, and a variety of top shows from March onwards.
