“KISS Guitarist Ace Frehley on Life Support After Brain Bleed”

-

Ace Frehley, the original lead guitarist of KISS, is currently on life support in the hospital after experiencing a brain bleed. The 74-year-old rock icon, also known as The Spaceman, sustained the injury from a fall in his studio a few weeks ago, resulting in the cancellation of his upcoming tour.

Despite being on a ventilator for some time, his condition has not shown signs of improvement. While there have been speculations on social media regarding his passing, TMZ has reported that as of Thursday afternoon, he remains on the ventilator.

Following his fall and the subsequent tour cancellation, a statement shared on his official Instagram page on September 25 assured fans of his well-being but disclosed that his doctor advised against travel at that time.

Subsequently, another statement announced, “Due to ongoing medical issues, Ace has reluctantly decided to cancel the rest of his 2025 tour dates,” according to the Mirror US.

Frehley co-founded KISS with Gene Simmons, Paul Stanley, and Peter Criss. He played guitar for the band from 1973 to 1982 before departing due to creative disparities and substance abuse challenges.

Post his KISS tenure, Frehley pursued a solo career and formed the band Frehley’s Comet, active from 1984 to 1988. He later reunited with KISS for their 1996 Alive/Worldwide Tour and remained with the group until 2002.

In recent news, Gene Simmons was rushed to the hospital after a car accident. He was admitted to a Malibu hospital following a fainting episode while driving, resulting in a collision with a parked car.

Gene, aged 76, crashed his Lincoln Navigator into a parked vehicle on the Pacific Coast Highway after losing consciousness. After receiving medical attention, he has been discharged and is recuperating at home, as confirmed by his wife, Shannon Tweed.

Shannon, 68, updated the press that Gene is recovering well, mentioning that during the accident, his car veered across multiple lanes. She highlighted that Gene’s doctor recently altered his medication, emphasizing the need for increased water intake.

Notably, Gene has had a history of dehydration issues, notably during a KISS concert in Brazil two years ago, where he fell ill on stage due to dehydration, causing a brief pause in the show.

Gene reassured fans of his well-being through a message, stating, “Hey everybody, thanks for the good wishes. I’m fine. Yesterday at Manaus Stadium in Brazil, experienced weakness because of dehydration. We stopped for about five minutes, I drank some water, and then all was well. Nothing serious. Tomorrow, Bogota Stadium. See you there!”

He later elaborated, “Ok, kids. Not a big deal. Thanks for your kind wishes. Last night we played Amazon jungle Stadium/Brazil. Humidity and temperature were sky high. I was dehydrated and was forced to sit for a song. We got back on stage in 5 minutes & finished the show.”
