Teen Electrocuted by Snapped Power Line in Brazil Tragedy

-

A 17-year-old girl tragically lost her life after being electrocuted when a power line snapped while she was crossing the road during heavy rainfall. Nathaly Rodrigues do Nascimento, on her way to school in Bonfinopolis, Brazil, met with the fatal accident. Departing from her work at a stationery store in Brasilia, she was en route to school to take a test when the incident occurred.

Eyewitness Rejaine Rosa de Oliveira recounted that Nathaly was struck by electricity when two power lines broke as she was crossing the road in the rain. The live electrical cable was discovered by emergency services on the scene. Sandra Gouveia, the school headteacher, described Nathaly as a polite and dedicated student, emphasizing the deep loss felt by the school community.

Following the tragic event, family and friends held a vigil for Nathaly, demanding accountability from Equatorial Goias, responsible for managing electricity infrastructure in Goiás. Friends expressed disbelief over the teenager’s death, labeling it as negligence rather than an accident. In response, Equatorial Goias expressed regret over the incident and pledged support to the victim’s family.

The company assured cooperation with the investigation into the accident, with authorities launching an inquiry into the matter. The community mourns the loss of Nathaly and seeks justice for the unfortunate incident.
